Tidworth Golf Club is proud to announce the successful integration of a fleet of Husqvarna autonomous mowers into its golf course maintenance operations, marking a significant milestone in the club’s ongoing commitment to innovation, sustainability, and course excellence. Following extensive planning and collaboration between the Board and Course Manager, this forward-thinking transition replaces traditional operator-driven equipment with state-of-the-art robotic technology. The move positions Tidworth Golf Club at the forefront of a growing trend within the UK golf industry, demonstrating leadership in embracing modern, efficient solutions.
“These autonomous mowers offer numerous benefits — from reducing operational and capital costs, to enhancing turf quality and improving sustainability across the course” said General Manager, Chloe Boissel-Marshall. “This is about future-proofing our operations while continuing to deliver the high standards our members expect.
“Importantly, this is not about replacing our invaluable greenkeeping team. It’s about giving them the tools to focus their expertise where it matters most – on managing turf, not just driving machines. By automating routine mowing tasks, we’re creating opportunities to improve efficiency, elevate course presentation, and support more advanced, proactive turf management strategies.”
The new fleet includes a combination of Husqvarna Ceora and 550 EPOS models, supported by wireless reference stations. Operating with minimal human intervention, the electric mowers will manage 85 per cent of the club’s rough and carry areas, delivering a cleaner, more consistent cut, while dramatically reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
