Vicars Cross Golf Club, Chester, located in the north-west of England has announced the appointment of Philip Beard as its new general manager. Beard brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to his new role at one of the region’s best golf venues.
Joining from North Wales where his club has achieved Wales Club of the Year, Beard has a vision for growth and inclusivity. He is driving Vicars Cross Golf Club’s new welcome experience for both new and experienced golfers. In addition, he is creating new opportunities for ladies to embrace the sport and is keen to introduce juniors to the game of golf. Beard has a successful track record for all three and for enhancing the course and clubhouse experience.
One of the most anticipated developments under Beards’s leadership is the opening of a state-of-the-art driving range and short game area for late 2024. This will offer members and visitors outstanding practice and training facilities. “I’m truly excited to take on this role and be part of Vicars Cross Golf Club,” said Beard. “We have some fantastic initiatives in the pipeline, and I can’t wait to work with our members and guests to make this club a hub for golf enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.”
Vicars Cross Golf Club Board added: “It is an exciting time for Vicars Cross Golf Club with lots of good news stories and developments to come. We are one of the premier courses in Cheshire and are constantly improving our offer for members and visitors alike, broadening its appeal for everyone and encouraging more age groups to get into golf.”
In his spare time Beard enjoys time with his family and friends and plays golf with a handicap of six.
