Las Colinas Golf & Country Club in Alicante, Spain, has appointed Alfonso Castiñeira as the destination’s new director of golf. After a decade at the head of different courses across Europe and Central America, Castiñeira returns to Spain to consolidate the project at Las Colinas, a worldclass.golf destination.
Since October 2021, Castiñeira has been working for Troon at Santa Maria Golf Club, one of the most exclusive clubs in Panama, and when asked how he felt about his return to Spain, he stated: “It is an honour for me to join Las Colinas Golf & Country Club, one of the most important golf courses in Spain. I believe that my experience in the golf industry will help to further consolidate this project as a national and international reference.”
