The Wisley, Surrey, has announced that David Shepherd – currently CEO of The The Scandanavian in Denmark – will take over the role of CEO in April, 2024. Shepherd’s appointment comes after the previous incumbent, John Glendinning, was appointed COO of Marine Drive Golf Club, Vancouver, Canada.
Micheal Elysee, chairman of The Wisley said in a statement: “David is a second-generation golf professional and his impressive track record at The Belfry, Monte Rei in Portugal and latterly at The Scandinavian Club in Denmark make him the ideal candidate for the role. It is an important time at The Wisley with our current and future development plans and we are very pleased to have David on-board to help us further those developments.”
David Shepherd added: “I am incredibly excited to be joining The Wisley. It is a club I have enjoyed visiting and admired from a distance for a long time. I look forward to helping the team continue to deliver amazing experiences and to meeting all the members in April.”
